Woman (20s) tragically dies at finish line of Cork marathon
Cork County County has confirmed that a woman in her 20s has sadly died at the Cork marathon on Sunday June 1.
In a press release, Cork City Council said that they are, "deeply saddened to confirm that a participant in the Cork City Marathon has tragically passed away.
"The person was attended to immediately by the emergency services on the scene. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased."
The woman suddenly became unwell when she reached the finish line and tragically died at the event.
