'Really tore into him!'- Gardai slate disqualified driver in hilarious Facebook post

An Garda Siochana, and whoever runs their Facebook posts, have received a lot of attention and praise after they put up a sharp-witted post about a disqualified driver recently.

The post said that a driver spent €1,000 on a Toyota Prius in Kildare and an hour later it was seized by gardai in Laois.

The driver was arrested and given a live bench warrant and is due in court.

The social media post also added some ideas of what the driver should have spent his money on instead!

2,500 Freddo bars (better resale value than this Prius)
☕ 500 large cappuccinos (at least you’d stay awake on the bus)
4 Electric Picnic tickets (sold-out, unfortunately)
️ A season bus pass (where Disqualified Drivers actually belong)
"Instead, this €1,000 investment got a court date and no car. Moral of the story: If you’re disqualified, spending €1,000 on a car is the worst return on an investment you’ll ever see".

Some of the comments under the post expressed that they thought the post was "hilarious" and "whoever wrote them should get a raise!".
One person also said: "Lads, much better than most of these posts. Who ever this cheeky bollix is, keep them!".
Other people said: "Great sense of humour whoever wrote this" and "Jesus, really tore into him!".
