A teenager has died following a road crash in Cork.
Gardai said the male had been a pedestrian who was struck by a car at Little Island at around 11.50pm on Friday.
“The pedestrian, a male aged in his late teens was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital,” they said.
“He has since been declared deceased.
“Forensic Collision investigators attended the scene of the incident and an examination took place.”
A Garda spokesman issued an appeal for information.
“Road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage and were travelling in the area between 11pm and midnight on Friday 17th April 2026, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardai,” he said.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021 4558510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
