Gardaí renew appeal after female pedestrian is killed

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision involving a truck and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 12:50pm on Friday, 9th December 2022, on the Main Street in Macroom, County Cork.

A female pedestrian, aged in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision. No other injuries to persons was reported.

A technical examination of the scene has been completed by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
 
In particular, Gardaí are wishing to speak to any person who may have attended to the woman directly after the collision.  
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Main Street between 12:30pm and 1pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
