Coinciding with Daffodil Day, a new cancer themed garden, entitled the Fairy Flax, officially opened today in Naas.
This resulted from a collaborative approach by Naas Town Community Project working with Naas Access and Disability Group, Friends of Naas Hospital, local residents, Naas Tidy Towns and the Men’s Shed, Naas.
The project was sponsored by Kildare County Council and Tescos of Naas, which generously replaced planting and shrubbery after the garden was robbed last month.
“As the Cancer Co-ordinator of Naas General Hospital, it was a privilege to be part of this project" said Peggy O'Dwyer (photographed here with colleagues from Naas Hospital).
"I want to particularly thank Majella O’ Keeffe of Naas Access and Disability Group for her inspiration and determination to see this project though to fruition”.
Feature photo shows all the groups involved in the project, photographed at the official launch earlier today.
