New Chinese Food Tour for foodies in Naas

By Rose Barrett O’Donoghue
Traditional Chinese Food Tour was established in Dublin last year by a Kildare resident, who is now introducing the concept to Naas town.
Tipperary man, and now Kildare-based entrepreneur Frank, whose wife is from North China, has travelled and lived in China and believes in the benefits and well-being of traditional Chinese food.
Frank said: “I introduced the concept last year to a restaurant in Dublin, one I felt comfortable working with and knew their chefs used authentic Chinese ingredients and traditional practises. Sometimes we used the restaurant but on others, we had a private room with a tour guide and I selecting food dishes in advance, for up to 12 guests.
“I generally choose dishes which encompass fish, meat, and poultry with a variety of vegetarian dishes too. I place huge focus on Chinese vegetables and have found guests love bok choy, steamed sea bass in soya sauce, long green beans cooked with minced pork or pork lightly battered and cooked in red sauce.
“The dishes are laid out on the table so guests can sample any or all of the dishes and the feedback was so positive, I’m hoping to run one monthly in Naas, with the first starting on Friday, January 26.

Twelve guests are required and the event must be pre-booked. You can phone or email Frank at [email protected], and also via the app, ‘Meetup’.
“I also have an Instagram page and a Facebook page” said Frank. “All with the handle traditional Chinese food tour.
"I'm also available for private booking, minimum of 9 people – these tastings are perfect for staff nights out”.
It’s a great way to meet new people and try new dishes. Keep an eye out also on Eventbrite to purchase tickets”.
