Newbridge man facing charges of being in possession of drugs

A Newbridge man facing a charge of being in possession of cocaine  and diamorphine did not appear at Naas District Court because he was in hospital getting an IV drip, his solicitor said.

Last Thursday, the 46-year-old Newbridge man was charged with possession of drugs (cocaine),  for sale or supply at Station Road, Newbridge, on September 25, 2016.

On September 22, 2016, he was charged with obstruction at Newbridge Garda Station.

On September 25, 2016, he was charged with being in possession of diamorphine.

Defence Solicitor, Tony Hanahoe, told the court how the accused is in hospital on an IV drip.

He said that the doctor had not yet arrived on rounds to give a sick cert.

Judge Desmond Zaidan ordered a bench-warrant.
