Young Anna O’Connor from Newbridge in Co Kildare is gearing up to represent her home county in the U16 Solo Singing category finals as part of the Aldi Community Games Festival 2019 in Limerick tomorrow.
Anna, 14, is a 2nd year student at Newbridge College. She attends Leah Moran Stage School and she also attends Maureen Ward for vocal lessons and she has been performing on stage for several years.
Last November Anna and her friend Ava Eustace made it all the way to the final of the Junior Eurovision Eire where they sang their own original song ‘Le Cheile’ which was written by TJ Sweeney and Jack Moran and translated to Irish by Kyle Dunne.
Now Anna has been chosen to sing in the U16s Solo Singing category of the Aldi Community Games 2019 which are taking place at University of Limerick this weekend.

Speaking to KildareNow, Anna’s proud mum Catherine said: “She is very excited to be representing Kildare in the Community Games finals this weekend in the U16 Solo Singing category.”
Anna will perform in the U16 Solo Singing category on Saturday, 25 May with the final getting underway from 3pm in the Jean Monnet Theatre (Main Building) in University of Limerick.
