Weekend Weather Forecast - More rain on the way

Today will start largely dry with sunny spells and just a few showers expected for Co Kildare.

Later in the day showers will become more frequent. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees. Moderate southwest winds will gradually ease further.


Scattered showers early tonight will merge into longer spells of rain later tonight. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees. Winds will become light southwest or variable.

Tomorrow, Tuesday will be another day of sunshine and showers. Some of the showers will be heavy and prolonged. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees. Light variable winds will turn northerly later in the day.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK
According to Met Eireann, the showers will die out on Tuesday night and under clear skies temperatures will fall to 4 or 5 degrees. 

Wednesday will be another rather cool day. It will start largely dry with good sunshine but in the afternoon showers will develop, some heavy and thundery. Highest temperatures on the low side for the time of year, expected to reach just 11 to 14 degrees in light northerly or variable breezes. Once again the showers will die out early in the night with a chilly night to follow.
