A breezy day ahead with heavy showers later for Co Kildare

It will be dull and mostly breezy today with outbreaks of rain, turning persistent and occasionally heavy for parts of Co Kildare.

According to Met Eireann, it will be driest across the midlands but with limited sunny spells. Top temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees Celsius; several degrees below the June average.

Northerly winds will be moderate to fresh in strength.

Outbreaks of rain will continue overnight. Some further persistent falls are likely, especially along Irish Sea coasts. Lowest temperatures 7 to 10 degrees Celsius.

Northerly breezes will remain moderate occasionally fresh in strength.

Dull and damp at first on Thursday with some lingering falls of rain. Whilst it will become drier into the afternoon, there will be limited sunny spells. A cool day with afternoon highs of about 13 or 14 degrees Celsius. Northwest breezes will be mainly moderate.

According to Met Eireann it will stay 'relatively cool out to the end of the week with sunshine and heavy showers' most days.

Largely dry with clear spells and light westerly breezes on Thursday night. Chill enough with overnight lows of 4 to 8 degrees Celsius.
