Lidl hiring more staff for new distribution hub on outskirts of Nebridge

Supermarket giant Lidl is hiring more staff for its new distribution centre on the Naas Road in Newbridge.

The distribution centre will overall have a total workforce of 350 staff.

The salary for a General Warehouse Operatives in Lidl starts at €11.90 per hour rising to €13.20 per hour after four years.

Employees are entitled to 20 days holiday per annum and a company pension after 1 year.

Lidl is also hiring for to assemble a pool of Operative Candidates for its distribution centres in Leinster. 


The regional distribution centre in Newbridge will be in operation 24/7 with tonnes of stock flowing in and out.

Fresh and frozen produce as well as non-food will be received, stored and delivered on time and in premium condition.

The 54,000m2 the distribution (artist's impression above) is one of the largest building projects in Ireland this year.

The development also includes the construction of a significant stretch of new public road, which will form the first part of the  Newbridge bypass.

Lidl first arrived on Irish shores in 2000 and since has seen incredible expansion - with 150 stores across Ireland and plans for 50 more in the next five years.

Lidl said it is looking for people with excellent collaboration skills along with the ability to work independently.

Applicants must also have the following skills: 

- Comfortable with operating moving equipment
- A flexible can-do attitude
- An eye for detail
- Outstanding numerical skills
- A sense of pride in a job well done
- Preferably, experience within a warehouse environment.
