Naas Gift Card & Shop Local Campaign
There was a great buzz at Naas Town hall on Tuesday 13th of November for the launch of the Christmas 2018 Naas Gift Card and Shop Local campaign. A large group of Naas Traders, Local Councillors, The Kildare Local Enterprise Office, The Naas Mens Shed and General Supporters convened for a light lunch provided by Swans on the Green and a briefing session on this years Naas Gift Card/Shop Local Campaign.
There are 2 main objectives of this project 1/ to highlight the wonderful choice Naas town centre has to offer and to 2/ encourage the public to support local businesses by shopping in the centre of Naas. According to Retail Excellence Ireland, for every €1 spent in a town like Naas, €4 stays in the local economy. With the Naas Gift Card, our local spend stays in our local community.
The voluntary group Naas Working Together are the driving force of the Naas Gift Card which was launched this time last year. The group also recently launched Naas Town Map/Retail Directory which is available in all Naas Hotels and may shops and cafes around the town.
To date the Naas Gift Card scheme has been a great success with both local employers who have used the scheme as a tax efficient way to bonus their staff and also with local Naas inhabitants who have purchased the Naas Gift card for their family & friends. There are 6 well located payzone outlets around the town selling the Naas Gift Card including Day Today Main Street, Swans on the Green, Centra Hazelmere, Maxol Dublin Road, Applegreen Sallins Road and Applegreen Newbridge Road.
The Naas Working Together group thanked The Treacy Group and Bank of Ireland Naas for their financial contribution which has made this year’s Naas Gift Card/Shop Local campaign possible. Thanks was also given to local Graphic Designer Neringa Normantaite for her fantastic help designing the promotional materials for this years’ campaign, to the Naas Mens Shed who like last year, will erect Shop Local road signs on the main approaches into Naas and to the 6 Payzone outlets (listed above) who will continue to sell the Naas Gift Card.
With over 65 participating outlets in Naas town centre, The Naas Gift Card offers an unrivalled choice from everyday grocery and pharmacy essentials, clothing & shoes, high end fashion, hair & beauty services, homewares & furnishings, Art & Crafts, health & fitness, language classes and a great variety of restaurants and cafes.
This year the choice with the Naas Gift Card is even better due to the addition of new outlets like Carphone Warehouse, Educogym Naas, Avanti Language Institute, The Shoe Tree, Trax Restaurant and the Health Food Supplement Store BeGood. For an upto date list of participating outlets please consult the Naas Working Together facebook page. Other updates to the scheme this year include new improved packaging for the actual gift card, Road Signs and new point of sale materials for both the Payzone outlets selling the card and the outlets accepting the Naas Gift Card.
