An Bord Pleanála have refused to reverse a decision made by Kildare County Council to prevent the demolition of an existing house and garage to make way for a new apartment block in Sallins.
The council turned down the application for planning permission from Patrick Quinn for the planned €1.4 million project on the Clane Road. Having refused the application in October, an appeal was launched with the planning board, but they too have shut it down.
The plans for the project would have seen the demolition of an existing habitable dwelling and garage and the construction of a two storey apartment block with 12 apartments consisting of eight two-bedroom apartments and four one-bedroom apartments.
