Proposed 24-hour bus service linking North Kildare to Dublin Airport welcomed

Local Fianna Fáil Minister James Lawless has welcomed the plans
Local Fianna Fail Minister James Lawless has welcomed plans for new 24-hour bus services connecting communities across North Kildare and West Dublin directly with Dublin Airport.
The GREEN Bus by Dublin Coach has submitted an application to the National Transport Authority (NTA) for a new hourly, 24-hour service connecting Maynooth with Dublin Airport, serving Dunboyne, Clonee and Blanchardstown along the route.
A second application is also due to be submitted shortly for a further 24-hour, hourly service connecting Celbridge, Leixlip, Lucan and Liffey Valley directly with Dublin Airport.
Welcoming the proposals, Minister Lawless said: “Improving public transport connectivity to Dublin Airport has been a priority for me, and I have been working closely with local representatives to identify opportunities for better and more direct connections for our communities.
“These proposals are very positive news for North Kildare and the wider area. Direct services to Dublin Airport would make a real difference for local residents, airport employees, students and people travelling to and from the airport.
“The fact that these services are proposed to operate 24 hours a day is particularly significant. People travelling for early-morning flights, arriving home late at night or working shifts at the airport need public transport options that operate when they need them.
“The Maynooth application is now with the NTA, and I am also delighted that an application serving Celbridge, Leixlip, Lucan and Liffey Valley is set to follow shortly. I hope these proposals can progress positively through the NTA process and that we can see the first new service on the road before the end of the year.”
Minister Lawless said the proposed services would be operated commercially by The GREEN Bus by Dublin Coach and welcomed the move as “the type of practical improvement in connectivity that we need.”
Minister Lawless said he will continue working with local representatives and stakeholders to support better public transport links for the community.
