Red Cow fuel spill: Truck driver had lucky escape but delays for Kildare commuters

A truck driver had a lucky escape after the vehicle in which he was driving jack-knifed and crashed into a road barrier, bursting his fuel tanks this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene at the southbound slip to N7 westbound under the Red Cow Roundabout shortly after 7am.
Dublin Fire Brigade crews worked in the morning darkness to contain the fuel spill.
There were no injuries in the incident, Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed but the incident caused long delays for Co Kildare commuters trying to get to work.
Photographs shared by Dublin Fire Brigade on their official Twitter account showed crews prevented fuel spreading on the road with a boom which absorbed the spill.
