Robbery at Dublin supermarket sees young man before the court this morning

A man in his twenties has been arrested this morning in connection with the robbery of a supermarket.

The accused is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning facing charges in relation to the robbery.

Gardai have arrested a male following a robbery at a shop on Upper Rathmines Road yesterday evening.

At approximately 8.50pm on Saturday 15, a lone male entered a supermarket on Upper Rathmines Road, Dublin 6 and approached a cashier. The suspect threatened the male cashier, took a sum of money and fled the scene. The male cashier was uninjured. The suspected offender fled the scene on foot.

Gardaí subsequently carried out searches of the area and arrested a male in his 20s. This male is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Terenure Garda Station.
