Sharp drop in number of patients on trolleys at Naas Hospital down to 10 today

There's been a sharp drop in the number of people on trolleys at Naas General Hospital today with 10 people on trolleys.

There were 25 people on gurneys at the Kildare facility yesterday, according to Trolley Watch figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

Today there are 7 patients waiting in the emergency department and 3 on wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says 468 patients are waiting on trolleys at hospitals nationwide today. 317 are waiting in the emergency department, while 151 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals across the country.

The worst-hit hospitals today are:

  • University Hospital Galway – 42
  • Cork University Hospital – 41
  • Beaumont Hospital - 37
