Met Eireann says it will turn very cold tonight [Sunday] with lowest temperatures forecast to fall to between 0 degrees and minus 4 degrees - leading to a widespread sharp frost.

Tomorrow [Monday] will be cold day and frost will only slowly clear in the morning.

Stick to major routes as they are more likely to have been gritted than secondary roads.

Top temperatures will reach only between 5 to 7 degrees during the day.

Lowest temperatures tomorrow night will fall to between -2 and +1 degree with frost and winds will be mostly moderate westerly.

Tuesday will be another cold day with scattered showers and sunny spells.

Some of the showers will turn wintry as top temperatures only reach around 3 to 6 degrees in moderate west to northwest wind.
