Showers are expected to die out tonight and it will become quite cold with a risk of frost developing in some areas in Co Kildare.
Lowest temperatures of 2 to 4 degrees in light to moderate west to southwest winds.
It will be dry and bright tomorrow morning, but feeling chilly. Cloud will spread from the west as the morning goes on and rain will develop during the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees, in moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Meanwhile Met Eireann has said that the weather may heat up later this week with relatively mild conditions expected that could see temperatures enter the mid-teens, potentially reaching 15C-almost as warm as the French Riviera.
Met Eireann said: "A relatively mild outlook with maxima even reaching the mid-teens in parts later this week. Staying rather breezy however and mixed, with some rain, mainly occurring in the west and south, before becoming settled and calmer countrywide this coming weekend."
