Singer-songwriter TJ (16) from Kildare Town launches debut single

By Rose B O'Donoghue
Sixteen year old student TJ Sweeney has his eyes (and ears) firmly fixed on a career in the music industry and aspires to be the next Ed Sheeran, no less!

Cunningham’s of Kildare was the venue and the youngster rocked the house with support from the home crowd and family.
TJ secured a record deal with independent label Shadowhawk Records, having signed to the Shadowhawk Group last year.
With a passion for music from an early age, his manager said: “TJ is such a talented young man, who has worked very hard and we are hoping that local and national press and media will give him the support he deserves in the release of his debut single, Footprints”.
The debut release was hosted last Friday at Cunningham’s Bar in Kildare but next Friday, 27 October will see TJ release the single via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify and all other download channels.
A student of St Paul’s Secondary School, Monasterevin, he plays soccer with Monasterevin Town and was formerly a member of the Leah Moran Stage School.
Family is very important to TJ and he is extremely close to his parents Jean and dad Francis, and siblings, Caitlin (19), Danny (7), Josh (1) and Cillian (6).
Great to see him realising his passion for music and releasing his first single at 16. TJ confirmed the Kildare youth loves performing and writing songs, and has participated in many charity gigs in the locality, and also in support of the local youth club.
Footprints by TJ Sweeney of Kildare Town goes on sale on Friday next, via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify and all other download channels.
