Mountmellick Credit Union - celebrating the coming together of the two credit unions

Mountmellick Credit Union Limited recently merged with Rathangan & District Credit Union Ltd, including the Mountmellick sub-office in Clonaslee. Although it was not safe to host a celebration at the time of the merger due to COVID concerns, Mountmellick Credit Union is now ready to celebrate the coming together of the two credit unions. The credit unions are united by the cooperative ethos of the credit union movement, which works for the benefit of all their members and transends the county bounds.

On 31st March 2023, Mountmellick Credit Union will host an open day at its Rathangan branch to celebrate the coming together of the two credit unions. Members and locals in the area are invited to visit the branch and see first-hand what the credit union has to offer, from personal loans to savings and foreign exchange. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Mountmellick Credit Union returns any surplus earned to the local community and local economy in the form of sponsorships for local groups, clubs, or charities or as dividends to its members.

The open day is an opportunity to show support for the credit union, which is a vital part of any community. Kildare FM will be on-site, and visitors can enjoy a coffee dock and have a chance to win some great prizes and giveaways from local businesses. It promises to be a great day for everyone to get involved in and celebrate the benefits of a credit union in their community.
