Kildare James Burke side steps Kerry Fionn McKessy, Burke contributed handsomely to Kildare lead by half time
Kildare recorded a fully-deserved five point win (15 win in a row) over Kerry at St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, this afternoon, booking, at least, a semi-final spot in the Allianz Hurling League Division 2A.
It was a game Kildare dominated for long periods, and in fairness the winning margin could have been a lot more.
It was the opening half when The Lilies laid the foundation for this win, hitting seven unanswered points while keeping Kerry scoreless for some 17 minutess, Kildare leading at the break 0-14 to 0-6.
Kerry came more into it in the second half but a briliant Gerry Keegan goal in the 60 minute took the sails out of the Kerry side, with the home side going on to win on a final score line of Kildare 2-20 Kerry 0-21.
