Kildare GAA: Naas are minor hurling league champions

Boys from the county town too strong for gallant Maynooth in Division 1 final

Kildare GAA: Naas are minor hurling league champions

Naas are the Future Ticketing Division 1 Minor Hurling League champions after they saw off a solid Maynooth performance to claim an eight points victory in Manguard Plus Hawkfield on Wednesday night last, winning on a final score line of Naas 4-15 to 2-14.
A 4-8 return from the full forward combination of Theo Frisby (3-3) and Charlie Carroll (1-5) was the platform for the victory as they always had to much for Maynooth. When Charlie Carroll goaled after 12 minutes Maynooth were always chasing the game.
Naas led at the break 3-9 to 1-4 and while Maynooth improved considerably on the resumption they simply had not enough of fire power to defeat the favourites.

Subs: Paul L'estrange for CJ Boran 48; Seamus Redmond for Tom McKeon 55.
