Leinster Junior Football ‘A’ Final
Coláiste Mhuire Mullingar 3-13
Naas CBS 1-16
After one of the most back and forth games anyone is likely to see this year, it was a late goal from Coláiste Mhuire Mullingar's Aaron Connaire that defeated Naas CBS in this Leinster Junior 'A' final. The full-forward, who hit 2-5 on the day, was slipped through by teammate Will Scahill and produced an excellent finish to fire his side ahead with seven minutes remaining.
The Kildare school trailed 2-1 to 0-2 after 10 minutes in this game, but led by three at the break after an astounding recovering. A flying to the second half by the Westmeath school would wipe out any lead previously held as these teams ended up neck-and-neck coming into the closing minutes.
Connaire's goal was followed by a Padraig Monaghan point and despite Naas' best efforts late on the Mullingar side held on for victory.
