Kildare GAA:  Leixlip book place in IFC Final

Hot favourites Leixlip booked their place in the Auld Shebeen IFC final following a two point win over a gallant Milltown side at Manguard Park, this afternoon.

However Leixlip were put to the pin of their collective collars after playing second  fiddle throughout the opening half, that despite playing with the aid of the strong wind.

Milltown led at the break 1-7 to 0-7, the goal coming in the opening minute from Patarick Donohue.

It certainly did  not lookk good for the boys in maroon at the start of the second half facing into the strong wind but they got the vital goal in the 38 minute with man-of-the-match Jack Barrett seemingly getting the vital touch.

Leixlip soon leveled, took the lead and while Milltown had their chances it was the boys from north Kildare who advance to the final on a score line of Leixlip 1-12 to 1-10.

Leixlip scorers Jack Barretrt 1-6 (4 frees), Ronan Fitzsimons 0-2, Ben Travers 0-2, Tommy Mooli8ck 0-1, Eamonn Murphy 0-1.

Milltown, Patrick Donohue 1-1 (1 free), Conor Sheerin 0-2 (2 frees), Alan Dignam 0-2, Joe Dunne 0-2, Ben Heuston 0-1, Liam Kelly 0-1, Colin O'Shea 0-1.
