Eoin Lawlor of Naas in action against Tony Archbold of Celbridge during the Kildare County Senior Club Football Championship final match between Celbridge and Naas at Cedral St Conleth's Park in Newbr
Naas made it four senior titles in a row following a one point win over Celbridge in difficult conditions at Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, this afternoon.
Both sides played with big numbers at the back and the conditions certainly did not make for a brilliant game.
Naas did what Naas do, grind it out and that they certainly did but Celbrige will rue this one big time, especially after Paddy Brophy was given a straight red after being on the pitch for a mere 60 seconds for a 'foul' on Conor McCarthy.
Naas led at the break 1-3 to 0-4, the goal, a brilliant individual effort from Dermot Hanafin.
Celbridge leveled and took the lead following a well-worked goal from Hugh McGrillen on 36 minutes.
Naas immediately leveled through Darragh Kirwan. However a Davy Hughes mark had Celbridge back in the front. The Celbridge red card arrived and was crucial. Alex Beirne leveled and then on 60 minutes a brilliant point from Darragh Kirwan proved the difference.
Final score: Naas 1-7 Celbridge 1-6.
Naas now play Dublin champions Cuala, on Saturday week, in Cedral St Conleth's Park in the Leinster club quarter-final.
