While Naas put down a big marker on Saturday evening, today Sunday 24 August, it was the turn of Sarsfields and they certainly showed their championship credentials with a very impressive display defeating a very disappointing Maynooth side by no less than 14 points.

While Maynooth took an early lead, three two-pointers had The Sash quickly back in the game. A black card for Maynooth full back saw Sarsfields take full advantage and they duly added 1-5 in that ten minute spell to lead at the break 1-9 to 0-7.

Sarsfields totally dominated the second half hitting an impressive 1-11 to Maynooth's 1-2.

Sarsfields, along with Naas, are now through to the last eight.
