Tom Martin in fine form for Suncroft as they booked a plade in the IFC quaerter-final with a fine win over Ellistown
In the end it was comfortable, very comfortable in fact as Suncroft simply had too much scoring power for Ellistown in this pre quarter-final of the IFC at Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbrige, this afternoon.
Playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the opening half Suncroft held a lead of seven points at the break 1-11 to 1-4. the goals coming from Tadhg Watson (Ellistown) in the opening minute with Sam Murphy replying a minute later.
With the breeze in Ellistown's favour in the seocnd half one wondered if Suncroft had enough of a lead but as the second half progressed it became obvious they had as Ellistown found the posts hard to find with some wild shooting; the game was well over before Conn Kehoe got The Croft's second goal late on to leave it Suncroft 2-16 Ellistown 1-7.
Suncroft now take on championship favourites Sallins, in the quarter-final next weekend.
