Kildare SFC: Sarsfields show their mettle with mighty comeback

Sarsfields booked a place in the semi-final of the Kildare SFC with a mighty second half comeback against Johnstownbridge at Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, this afternoon.

Playing with the aid of a strong breeze JTB built up an impressive half time lead of 2-15 to 1-7, the goals from Daniel Flynn along with no less than six two-pointers, Karl Hartley getting The Sash goa.

On the resumption despite JTB getting the opening score it was all Sarsfields and with substitute Barry Coffey hitting an impressive nine point tally following his half-time introduction, slowly but surely eating into the lead drawing level with a Coffey two-pointer free on 56 minutes going on to add another four points, with Karl Hartley getting his and his side's vital second half goal. Sarsfields now play Celbridge in the semi-final.

Final score: Sarsfields 2-21 Johnstownbridge 2-17.
