Ronnie Delaney was honoured by Naas Athletic Club, on his return home from the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, where he won a gold medal in the 1,500m.
Fifty years later (2016) and Naas Athletic Club held a 50th anniversary dinner in Lawlor's Hotel, Naas, attended by Ronnie Delaney, along with members of Naas Athletic Club.
