Fake facial hair helps Newbridge Greyhound Stadium raise almost €2,400 for charity
13 Dec 2015
There was a quirky feeling around Newbridge Greyhound Stadium for the month of November as a large majority of the punters and staff paraded around the track with fake moustaches. It was all in the aid of helping out with Movember however, and there was €2,378 raised through the incentive. There was a fantastic offer running throughout November at the venue, with customers offered a package of track entry, a racecard, a bottle of beer or glass of wine, chicken tenders and chips and of course a fake moustache for just €11.95. €2 from each entry price paid was given to the Movember charity. Along with Newbridge, Greyhound stadia in Dublin (Shelbourne Park & Harold’s Cross), Cork, Galway, Limerick, Mullingar, Tralee and Waterford all took part in the fun. Behind the jovial hairy exterior, Movember raises funds for men’s health charities such as the Irish Cancer Society, and is committed to men living happier, healthier and longer lives.
