Kids at Athy RFC send former player Carbery their well wishes before he makes Irish debut tonight

It is a wonderful achievement for a club such as Athy RFC to be able to boast a player of the ilk of Joey Carbery as one of their own, and though he may have been born in New Zealand, his rugby skills were honed on the pitches in the south Kildare Town. It will undoubtedly be a massive boost to Athy if Carbery makes it off the bench in Soldier Field tonight to make his debut against the All Blacks, and his story is likely to inspire many young people from around the area to pick up the oval ball and enjoy the game themselves. Having played just nine games with Leinster, the former Clontarf flyhalf has been fast-tracked in Joe Schmidt's Ireland squad to take on a New Zealand side looking for their 19th win in a row. The minis at Athy RFC sent their best wishes across the water to their protegee this morning, and the hashtags on their sign of 'inspired' and 'from the ground up' could not be more appropriate. Here's hoping that the next Joey Carbery may be among them.
