Supporters attending Leinster final warned not to bring large bags or backpacks

Supporters travelling to the Leinster Senior Football Championship final in Croke Park this weekend have been advised that they will not be allowed to take large bags and backpacks into the stadium for the game.

The new safety procedures were introduced in June for all GAA matches and concerts, and Croke Park will implement them for Kildare's first championship visit to GAA HQ in 2017.

Smaller bags (no bigger than A4 - 8.27in/21cm × 11.7/ 29.7cm) will be permitted but may be subject to searches and patrons are urged not to bring bags at all where possible.

"Please allow plenty of time to get into the stadium, and for match entry procedures, ticket checks and searches, we would advise arriving at the stadium at least 1 hour before throw-in," advised Croke Park officials.

"We would like to thank our patrons in advance for their cooperation with this matter as we look forward to a fantastic season of concerts and matches in Croke Park over the coming months."
