Final preparations are underway for the 3-day National Ploughing Championships next week where thousands of Co Kildare people will be among the almost 300,000 visitors.
The site in Screggan outside Tullamore will see 1,700 Exhibitors across 2 million feet of trade space.
The economic impact of the event - which runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - is believed to be in excess of €35m.
The very latest models in agricultural machinery and cutting edge technology will be on display in the Innovation Arena.
Also exhibited will be quality livestock, a Motor Show, a Forestry Village, Food Trail, an International Business Pavilion, Fashion and a Local Enterprise Village with every county in Ireland represented, National Baking Competitions, Craft Shows, Cookery Demonstrations and many topical seminars.
Etihad Airways is the new sponsor of the popular Best Dressed ‘Country Style’ ladies competition which has a prize of return flights from Dublin to Abu Dhabi and stays in luxury hotels.
The Most Appropriately Dressed Gentleman will receive a prize of a stay in the exclusive Wineport Lodge plus a bespoke custom-made suit sponsored by Master Tailor, Louis Copeland.
