Kildare Co Council has announced details of overnight roadworks on the N7/M7 and new lane changes for tomorrow morning.
A statement said that, subject to favourable weather conditions, the next section of the N7/M7 westbound mainline traffic will continue with movement onto the new carriageway surface adjacent to the new central median from 6am tomorrow.
To facilitate this change, overnight works on the westbound carriageway will commence from 9pm tonight.
Between Junction 8 (Johnstown) and Junction 9 (Naas south) the traffic will run on the two new lanes closest to the median and the auxiliary lane between Junction 8 on slip and junction off slip as originally.
After the exit at Junction 9 traffic will continue to run on the two new lanes for approximately 6 kilometers towards Junction 10 before switching back towards the verge with works continuing in the median.
This arrangement will facilitate works to the verge and hard shoulder.
A minimum of two lanes will be maintained during peak hours of 06.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs at all times.
Once traffic has been moved across works will continue to the adjacent verge/hard shoulder areas which will include for the tie-in of new slip lanes.
