TRAFFIC: M7 at standstill amid Storm Callum downpours. Delays after truck fire.
12:26 Friday 12th of October 2018

Dublin-bound traffic is at a virtual standstill on the M7 from the M9 merge to the Kerry Global plant.

There is a breakdown on the motorway northbound between Junction 10 (Naas South) and Junction 9 (Naas North) blocking the left lane.

Weather conditions are very poor in the area with the tail end of Storm Callum bringing persistent downpours and some spot flooding.

Forecasters are predicting rain in the Naas are until at least 6pm today.

A truck on fire on the M7 earlier seems to have triggered long delays on the motorway.

The truck fire incident happened on the southbound lane between junctions 9 and 10, Naas North and Naas South.

Emergency services attended the scene.
