A lorry driver who was arrested earlier this year for motoring offences on the M7 has been fined €4,000 and disqualified from driving for a period of two years.

Gardaí arrested the driver of the artic truck in September on a dangerous driving charge as the truck was fully laden with a 44-tonne load. The speed limiter in the vehicle had also been tampered with, which is a serious offence.

The arrest was made by members of the Naas Roads Plicing Unit and the driver has since had his penalties handed down.
