Two black pugs have been found in the Oldtown area of Naas after local residents raised concerns for the welfare of the two dogs with many cars in the area and the dangers posed by the road.

A KildareNow reader first spotted the dogs on Monday evening and said that one of the dogs appeared to be “heavily pregnant” and that they are “not dogs that are usually found around the estate”.

It is understood that both dogs are female French pugs and they are not wearing collars.

Both dogs were picked up by K.W.W.S.P.C.A and they are now safe and receiving treatment at Barrack Gate Vets in Naas. Anyone with information in relation to the dogs’ owners can contact 045 876041.

Proof of identification may be required.
