Two Kildare women went on a Winning Streak on the National Lottery TV game show last Saturday as the pair from the Lilywhite County won a whopping €97,000 between them on the RTÉ One show.

The winning ticket was bought from Statoil Service Station, St. Mary’s Road, Edenderry, Co. Offaly.

What a week it was for Sandra McNamee from Robertstown, Co. Kildare.

The town was buzzing all week after her name was pulled out of the drum to appear on Saturday’s Winning Streak (13thOctober).

A popular person, Sandra is heavily involved in the community, being the local soccer club’s treasurer, and has been absolutely overwhelmed with the support from her neighbours and friends.

For Sandra, she was living the dream of her late grandmother, her beloved nanny Síle McNamee, whose lifelong dream was to go on Winning Streak.

Sile passed away nine years ago and is sorely missed by Sandra and the rest of the family and she done her grandmother proud on the show by winning €65,000, which included a luxury holiday to Iceland.

Sandra was accompanied by her parents Brigid and John as well as her only other sibling – her brother Adrian. Sandra says that her family is her life and she enjoyed sharing this experience with them.

Sandra is treasurer of the local soccer club Bridgewood Celtic/Eleson United and is a hands on volunteer at the club and is often found at the teams games an hour before kick-off, organising the team kit and helping out wherever she can.

In her spare time Sandra like walking and volunteering and is also a big Manchester United fan and likes to get over to home games in Old Trafford at least twice every season.

It was also a profitable day for Lucia O’Keeffe from Leixlip, Co. Kildare who walked away from the Winning Streak show with a handsome €32,000.

Getting the opportunity to go on Winning Streak really is the “cherry on top of the cake” for Lucia O’Keeffe, from Leixlip in Co. Kildare, who has just recently returned from holiday in Tenerife with her husband Tom, who were celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary (on 1st October).

In fact, the Winning Streak scratch card that got pulled from the drum was one that Tom bought Lucia for their anniversary!

Lucia admits that the couple ended up getting the other Winning Streak scratch cards for their respective anniversary cards!

Lucia is a ward secretary In Dublin’s St. Vincent’s Hospital, where she has worked for almost 12 years.

She and Tom have two adult children, Maria and Thomas Jnr.

Maria was supporting her mum from the audience with Tom but unfortunately Thomas could not make it as he had to work. It will be a special occasion for the family for whom (especially Tom) Winning Streak is a Saturday night ritual.

In her spare time there is nothing Lucia loves more than gardening.

She loves the fresh air and tending to plants and even just weeding her own garden.

With her winnings from the show, Lucia is going to put them towards insulating her house and after that she will see how she gets on.

A brand new-look Winning Streak scratch card is available in the 5,900 National Lottery retailers all over the country, where as well as the chance to appear on the Winning Streak TV game show if you  get three stars, players will also be in with a chance to win some great cash prizes up to €5,000.

The odds for those who purchase a Winning Streak to win is 1 in 1.76 to win a cash or three star prize.

Players can also send their scratch card stubs into the National Lottery where each week, on the show, a player will be drawn as the winner of a Luxury Cruise for two valued at €5,000.

The winner of this week’s cruise is Peter Malone from Castlebar, Co Mayo.
