Two secondary schools planned for Maynooth

Construction of two new secondary schools is due to begin in Maynooth this January. Currently there is just one secondary school in the town called Maynooth Post Primary, located at the Moyglare Road. Speaking to Kildare Now, Fine Gael Cllr Tim Durkan welcomed the announcement of the new schools adding that Maynooth Post Primary is 'bursting at the seams.' The Kildare Wicklow Education and Training board is seeking a contract to build both 1,000 pupils schools and a shared sports facility. It is anticipated that the buildings at Moyglare Road will have one section for post primary Junior level students and one for Senior level students. The deadline for tenders is October 12th.
