Unique horse-themed exhibition taking place in Straffan

A unique exhibition of images of horses is taking place in Straffan.

The Spirit of the Horse by Co Wicklow artist Leonie Sutton is showing in Straffan Antiques & Design each day until May 7.

Equine artist Leonie Sutton now lives in the countryside in the west of Ireland, a self-taught artist specialising in the subject of horses and other animals.

Having had pets all her life and worked with and owned horses for over two decades, Leonie has a deep love, empathy and knowledge of the subject and this is captured in her work.

Leonie works with a variety of mediums, including pencil (graphite), oil and acrylic.

From original works to commissioned portraits Leonie's work can be found as far afield as Australia California and Canada.

Each individual piece she produces captures the personality, movement and soul of her subjects. connecting people emotionally to art.
