Longines Irish Champions Weekend is the unmissable event of the year and takes place in Leopardstown tomorrow and the Curragh on Sunday.

Day 2 of Longines Irish Champions Weekend at the Curragh features the Comer Group International Irish St Leger, Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes, Moyglare Stud Stakes, Moyglare Jewels Blandford Stakes and Derrinstown Stud Flying Five.

Racing legend Lester Piggott is the special guest at the racecourse.

Sunday will see the last action at the Curragh before the redeveloped racecourse with new grandstand and other world standard facilities are unveiled to the public in April next year.

Fashion

Phase 2 of the Longines Prize of Elegance carries over to the Curragh with amazing prizes on offer for the most elegant lady and gent.

Guest Judge Ingrid Hoey will choose the winner of an elegant Longines timepiece and an overnight stay at the 5-Star Merrion Hotel in Dublin.

Limerick band Hermitage Green will entertain crowds after the final race.

Aidan O’Brien

Trainer Aidan O'Brien is responsible for seven of the 15 remaining contenders for the Moyglare Stud Stakes.

The Ballydoyle maestro has saddled eight previous winners of the seven-furlong Group One and appears intent on adding to his tally.

His formidable team is headed by Fairyland, who has won three of her four starts to date and looks set to step up to the highest level following victory in the Lowther Stakes at York.

Also on the card at the Curragh is the Tattersalls Super Auction Sales Stakes and two Premier EBF Handicaps.

The first of the eight-race programme is likely to be off at 2.00pm.

Thoroughbred Trail

The Thoroughbred Trail also takes place at the Curragh before racing on Day 2 where racegoers have the opportunity to see behind the scenes of leading trainers’ yards, studs and practices around the Curragh.

A provisional list of participating locations across the weekend include DK Weld, Tracy Collins. the Irish National Stud, John Oxx, Brendan Duke, Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital, Michael Halford, Kildangan Stud, Johnny Murtagh, RACE, Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital, Willie McCreery, Robbie McNamara and Dick Brabazon.
