Warning over loose dogs on North Kildare Greenway
16:35 Wednesday 23rd of May 2018

Councillor Tim Durkan wants measures taken against stray dogs on the North Kildare Greenway.

That politicians want bye-laws and signs put in place on all sections of the Greenway within the
Maynooth Municipal District.

The new route, which will be an off-road walking and cycling track, is to run alongside the Royal Canal from Spencer Dock in Dublin to Richmond Harbour in Longford.

Along its route, the greenway will pass through Kildare, Meath and Westmeath, with Leixlip, Maynooth and Kilcock the towns that will be closest to the new amenity.

It will be Ireland's biggest greenway once it is completed, and it is being developed by Waterways Ireland who have entered the tendering process on behalf of the Royal Canal Greenway Steering Group.

The first of the two-phase project will commence in the coming months.
