The weather looks like it is finally going to break this evening as Met Eireann are predicting heavy rainfall for most of the country. Kildare should be spared the worst of the weather, but there is still a high chance of rain throughout tonight and into the morning.
Wet and windy this evening and early tonight, with severe and potentially damaging gusts in the northwestern areas overnight as the southerly winds veer westerly in direction. Rain, patchy in the east, will turn to showers overnight, heaviest and most frequent in the northwest. Lows of 10-13 degrees.
A very windy start to Thursday, especially over the northern half of the country, in strong and gusty westerly winds. Variable cloud amounts and sunny spells will be accompanied by scattered showers. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent in the west and north. Highs ranging from 15-19 degrees with winds gradually easing through the day.
