Snowfall is affecting visibility and slowing traffic in many areas this morning - Kildare got a light dusting but no major accumulations.
Met Eireann's Yellow Weather Warning says there will be showers of hail, sleet and snow overnight with "potential for further significant snowfall in places on Thursday".
Frost and ice are likely on secondary routes and on high ground in particular.
Remember it takes up to ten times longer to stop on an icy road. In affected areas, slow down, keep further back from the vehicle in front and keep all manoeuvres gentle.
Snow is currently lying on the roads in Portlaoise, Carrick-on-Shannon, Manorhamilton, Sligo Town and Letterkenny, and slippery conditions have also been reported around Longford Town, Roscommon Town, Tullamore, Mullingar, Cavan Town, Cork City, Limerick City, Galway City and Thurles.
