Met Éireann predicts dramatic change on the way in weekend weather forecast

Met Éireann's weekend weather forecast is in and it looks like we're in for a mixed bag!

Friday has seen a mostly dry day with some patches of rain and drizzle in the west and south.

Cloudy conditions will persist on Friday night with some scattered showers and widespread mist and fog across Munster. Lowest temperatures will range from 7 to 11 degrees - not too cold for this time of year. 

Saturday will mostly be the same, with persistent light rain throughout the day and night. Coastal counties will see some mist and fog in the morning and the west and southwest will see rain later in the afternoon and evening.

Again, Saturday will be somewhat unseasonably warm with highest temperatures between 12 and 16 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds. 

Saturday night will be warmer than previous nights, with lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees.

However, hope is not lost to see some sun this weekend. Although Sunday will have a drizzly start, drier and brighter conditions are expected to extend across the country in the afternoon. 

In the east of the country, people can expect a mild and humid start to the day, but thankfully the day will turn fresher once cooler conditions in the west develop countrywide. 

Sunday will see temperature highs of 12 to 15 degrees in the afternoon in mainly light westerly breezes.

Sunday night will, however, see a drastic drop in temperatures of between 3 and 7 degrees.
