First Holy Communion and Confirmation season is in full swing by now and each year we all wonder just how much people are willing to spend when it comes to the occasion. A cynical question perhaps, but one we all are curious about!
Each family differ when it comes to how they choose to celebrate such occasions. Many of us prefer small family dinners or a simple bouncy castle for the kids at home, whereas others prefer to go all out with more extravagant affairs. Either way, no matter what you decide to do, there's a cost.
The party aside, there's the clothing costs for the kids. Thankfully, there has been more affordable options in recent years for families when it comes to Communion dresses and suits for children with the likes of Mr Price and now this year Aldi will have a selection of accessories available too.

Then some children expect gifts from their parents too, which adds another cost to the stretched list. Overall, communions and confirmations can spiral into very expensive affairs. It can be easy to keep adding things to the list until suddenly you're overwhelmed and the day becomes more about the event than the fun of getting together as a family.
So, with such varying opinions and approaches to communions and confirmations, just how much do you plan on or have spent all in this year?
