There are three new players set to make their debuts from the start for the Kildare hurlers in the opening fixture of the 2019 season when the Lilywhites take on Meath tomorrow afternoon in the first game of the Kehoe Cup, while three others are in line to make their first appearance off the bench.
Clane duo Sean Christansen and Caolan Smith are in the starting team after strong performances for their club in 2018, while Confey's Paul Feerick is named at corner-back.
On the bench, St Laurence's Brian Waters, Moorefield's Reece Gavin and Confey's Aran Kelly are all newcomers to the side who could make their first appearance.
There is an experienced spine involved, with Christy Ring Cup Player of the Year Paddy McKenna starting in goals, while John Doran, Martin Fitzgerald, Brian Byrne, Paul Divilly and Bernard Deay presenting a strong middle cohort.
It is David Herity's first game in charge of the hurlers, and throw-in is at 2pm in St Conleth's Park.
