3 Kildare players named in National League team of the year
9:50 Thursday 17th of May 2018

Three Kildare players have been included in the Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 3 team of the year following their strong performances in the spring.

The Lilies made it to the semi-finals of Division 3 under new manager Daniel Moynihan, and with a young and inexperienced team it was a step in the right direction.

Ellistown defender Louise Scully, Moorefield's Aisling Curley and Sarsfields star Roisín Byrne have been named in the Division 3 team of the year, which is made up by players from Meath, Wexford, Offaly, Roscommon and Kildare.

Kildare will play Wexford in the first round of the All-Ireland Intermediate Football Championship on June 3. The Slaneysiders have defeated Moynihan's side twice already this year, the second defeat coming in the league semi-final.
