Joey Carbery marked his first Leinster start for over two months with a couple of excellent tries as the Athy man made a promising return to action in the RDS in Leinster's 39-10 win over Edinburgh.

The Outhalf hadn't started since undergoing ankle surgery after suffering an injury in the Champions Cup win over Northampton in early December, but he looked on his game here as he pulled the strings and scored two second half tries as the Blues secured a bonus point.

His first try came after he produced a trademark throw of the shoulder to bamboozle the Edinburgh defence and he dotted down, while the second try came at the end of a well executed Leinster move. Barry Daly also scored a couple of tries for the hosts, while Bryan Byrne and Dan Leavy crossed for one each.

There was a worry as Carbery left the field trough injury late on, but he reappeared at the end to salute the fans following the win. Kill's James Tracy played the full 80 minutes, while fellow Kill man Adam Byrne came on at half-time for the injured Dave Kearney.
